What a day and it is only noon! I have been running all over Hong Kong looking for stuff. The great thing about Hong Kong is everything you can or could want is here... The downfall is where In the heck is it located and How much it might cost. Well taxi ride is almost over see yea

Durian the King of Asian fruits

DURIAN

My take on Durian fruit...It smells like soured milk crossed with stinky Frito feet and  moldy oranges mashed together to make a custard paste. Have I tried it yet? NO, I hate to admit it, but I can't get pass the smell. I am not jumping up and down to try it, but since we are going on our sixth year in Asia... We should try it...we try so many other things (like goat balls) without over thinking it.

It is the SMELL! It is really hard to get passed. Anyway, we found Durian ice Cream in the market and decided we should try this. Who doesn't like ice cream? How bad could it taste?The smell should be toned down...that would make it easier for my nose.

I have to make this disclaimer, we are not a picky eaters, and we at least try everything once. The Durian fruit has been one of a few things that we haven't been able get passed the smell.

OK...here I go....

It has the appearance of play doh, the consistency of harden soft serve ice cream  and it smells like something all its own. Better yet it isn't stinky. The taste is smooth, sweet and at the back of my tongue I can taste sour, but I can't think of anything to compare it too. Not too helpful.

Our daughter does not like it, she spit it out. My husband and I finished ours, but I don't think I will eat any more.  The aftertaste is not the best...very sour.When I burped it was smell of a sour stomach.

We tried it! We are one step closer to trying the actual fruit.

Rainbows

You know it is going to be good day when you wake to a rainbow over the water. I wish I could have sat on my balcony with a hot cup of coffee and daydream my day away. No time, but I did take photos to share this lovely moment with you all.

Today...

I sat on the beach. Nothing amazing, or overwhelming....I just sat there. Kid is in school, husband is at work and I am sitting on the beach. Thats just not fair.
I am looking for a job, but it isn't easy. I thought about going back to teaching Conversational english, but it doesn't seem to be in me to do. I think I am going to go back to school and further my education.

How to get to Gateway store

Take the MTR and get off at the Sheung Wan station.
I Seem to always board the MTR at Admiralty station, Sheung Wan is on line 2. Sheung Wan is the last stop on the line. When exit the subway look for the "E＂ exit. The Exit at "E2" Wing lol st 6-26
Gatewaystore is on your left- Yellow door- it is the back entry of the store. Walk down the stairs and you will see the register.

If you want to go to Wing on take a right instead of a left when you exit "e2". Walk around the corner and look up you will see the sign for Wing on in bold yellow letters on the building. The only thing you will need to do is cross the street and enter the front door.

Gone and back again

Where have I been?
Learning my way around Hong Kong , my dear. Hong kong is much easier then Japan, not only do they speak English here but it has a European flare.

Repulse Bay beach

We were hanging on Repulse Bay beach today and my daughter found a dried up starfish. She thought it was the coolest thing ever and asked me to post it for all.
