Remember what Bilbo used to say...

" It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."

Old Sturbridge Village-MA

Old Sturbridge Village - MA

Old sturbridge Village was a family day trip. I was not sure how the kids would like it. I was sure surprised to find  the kids really enjoyed their day there.

"Old Sturbridge Village celebrates early New England life from 1790-1840. One of the country’s largest living history museums, OSV has historians in costume, 59 antique buildings, three water-powered mills, and a working farm. Visitors can ride a stagecoach, view antiques, tour heirloom gardens, meet heritage breed farm animals, and enjoy hands-on crafts. Open year-round, but hours change seasonally."

Quabbin Reservoir

Quabbin the second time. I really like this place. Right now, if I could live anywhere I really would like to live near the Quabbin.

Quabbin Reservoir

We went to the Quabbin on two different days. Day one I went there to ride the boat around and see the area. NOTE: if you want to go boating around you need to get a fishing license…yes…even if you don’t fish. I never asked why that was, but I am sure if you really need to know you can find the answer on one of the websites I posted. While boating around with other family members and kids we saw Blue heron, Canadian geese, loons, Eagles, and a Beaver home. While bumping along the water the kids wer amazed how crystal clear the water and the air were.

Here are some photos of the Quabbin I took while I was there.

Quabbin Reservoir and Ware River

When we went to Massachusetts to visit my in-laws and they took us to the Quabbin. I could have stayed on the boat all day just to enjoy the sounds of nature and to watch the Loons.

Heading Back to the U.S.

It is time for us to head back to the states!!! Oh, how I need a taste of the states...where I can go shopping at Wal-mart, drive long distances, and best of all see our family/friends.

The best thing about living outside of the United States is the coming back to it. Everytime I came back to the U.S. I apperciate it a little more than I did the last time.

"Oh, it's home again and home again, America for me!

I want a ship that's westward bound to plough the rolling sea
To the blessed land of Room Enough beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars."

Today at the beach...

I took my daughter and her friends to the the beach on a lovely sunday afternoon. Well...not going to post photos of them but this is what we saw today. The girl had a great time picking up sea shell (very small of course) and playing the sand. The beach is off of Stanley market.
