Transportation:

A. from Hong Kong Island: take Bus No. 6A, 6X, 70, 75, 90, 97, 260, M590, 72, 72A, 92, 96, 592, 41A, 38, 42, 77 or 99 and get off at the Ocean Park;

B. from Kowloon: take Bus No. 107, 171, 671 or 973 and get off at the Ocean Park;

C. from the Shatin: tak Bus No. 170 and get off at the Ocean Park;
D. takes Citybus Route 629 from Admiralty MTR Station or Central Pier No. 7 and get off at the Ocean Park.

 

Ocean Park, Giant Panda Adventure

We decided to go to Ocean Park today for spring break. It was really busy like usual. I took some photos of the Pandas they have. Pandas are so darn CUTE!

Oh dear Mark Twain, how you make things sound so easy. What if I jumped in this boat and just took off? Where would I go? Who would I see? Do I really want too? Yes, but I really don’t have the guts to do it.

Anyway, the boat wouldn’t be the same for me as it was sitting right there by the trees floating peacefully. I think more than anything I wanted to go lie out on the boat and look into the sky, maybe take a nap. I wanted to feel the boat floating and rocking gently with the waves. I wanted to listen to the water sing a sweet lullaby to me. I wanted to feel small in a big world with the protection of a boat. Crazy thoughts!

A girl can dream, explore and discover all the same without jumping on a boat. I can walk a million miles and have a magnificent moment at my front door. Such as this boat floating a few feet from me; I wasn’t looking for it and I am sure it wasn’t looking for me. But we found each other and it made my imagination go wild with “What if?”

What does this quote have to do with my photos...nothing, nothing at all. I found the quote amusing.

Here is our water taxi we took to get to the JUMBO rest. Do I feel safe or what?  You can feel the exhaust fumes feel you lungs. But don’t worry it will only last a minute or two. Then we will get out and take a deep breath of polluted air to clean out all that exhaust. The ride itself was great, no problems and the people were real nice.

We finally arrived. We were a little under dressed; maybe I should have read up about the restaurant. This was a spontaneous idea, so we really didn’t know what we were getting into. We are a family of three- this is a family style restaurant, which mean lots of food. We didn’t go hungry, matter-of –fact we couldn’t eat everything. Lessoned learned I need to read up on more of the restaurant in Hong Kong. The place overall was magnificent.

Aberdeen Wetmarket... not the Fish market

My friend was visiting from Japan and I decided a visit to the Aberdeen wet market would be a great introduction to Hong Kong Culture in Grocery shopping.

I love going to the Wet markets, but I have come to learn that many Expats don’t shop at wet markets for their fruit, veggies, seafood and some meats. I have heard various reasons why people don’t shop at the wet markets… from personal experience I have never experience any problems. The only problem I ran into was being yelled at for taking photos. I didn’t take in personal it is their business and if they don’t want you to take photos it is their right. Here are some photos and by the way excuse the way they look…I was yelled at for taking photos-LOL At the end of the Photo I posted some information about the Aberdeen market.

 This is the flower section. I have found they have a great selection and great pricing.  I haven't done it, but I have had friends who did have plants delivered from them (in a timely manner)

Coco Thai

I love this place!! It is on the beach, it is walking distance from Repulse bay beach, great drinks, and wonderful Atmosphere. I hope you can see it in my photos.
